Drink Recipes Description

There’s nothing wrong with a Salty Dog, but if you’re looking to mix up your brunch drink routine, this tequila-spiked version should be on your list. It’s made with fresh pink grapefruit juice, plus tonic to up the bitter / savory factor.


  • 2 cups freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice from about 4 grapefruits
  • 1 cup blanco tequila or joven mezcal
  • 2 cups tonic water, chilled
  • Kosher salt
  • Angostura bitters


  1. In a large pitcher, combine grapefruit juice and tequila or mezcal. Add tonic and fill pitcher with ice. Stir gently to combine.

  2. Rim 4 glasses with kosher salt. Divide cocktail between glasses, adding 2 dashes of bitters to each glass. Serve immediately.
